Melin Homes is a not-for-profit social landlord. We aim to provide a wide range of housing solutions and high-quality services to people in housing need.
We manage over 3,000 homes across five local authority areas in South East Wales: Blaenau Gwent, Monmouthshire, Newport, Powys and Torfaen.
At Melin, we believe that our role as a landlord goes further than simply providing homes. To us it means creating communities in which our residents want to play an active part and where they are happy to live.
Newport Housing Trust is an innovative and dynamic specialist housing association formed in 2001as a partial voluntary stock transfer from Newport City Council. The Transfer programme was successfully completed in 2006 and the business plan beyond the Transfer has the development of new accommodation options and services at its heart. The Trust has the particular objective to provide housing and lifestyle solutions for the over 60’s across South East Wales.
Seren Housing and its Members are not for profit organisations, providing housing and support services to over 10,000 people in over 4,500 homes, with offices in Newport and Abergavenny.
The Seren Group is a regional provider of housing and support services throughout South East Wales. Our approach at Seren is one of regional perspective with a focus on local priorities.
Seren’s Purpose is to “provide housing and support which makes a real difference to peoples lives”.
Monmouthshire Housing Association (MHA) was established on 21st January 2008 to receive the housing stock of Monmouthshire County Council through a large scale voluntary transfer. We are an Industrial and Provident Society, managed by a voluntary board and an executive management team.
MHA provides and manages 3,600 affordable homes in Monmouthshire and also manages 290 leasehold properties, a large number of garages and other land within the county.
The picture of the past year is one of transformation and has been a period of great excitment for Monmouthshire Housing. All efforts have been devoted to laying the foundations for us to deliver the Welsh Housing Quality Standards throughout our stock by 2012 and fulfill our other commitments given at the time of transfer.

Tai Calon was launched on the 26th of July 2010, following the transfer of housing stock and services from Blaenau Gwent Council. Tai Calon is a brand new, not-for-profit-organisation and is now Blaenau Gwent’s largest provider of social housing with some 6,300 homes. The organisation is set to invest over £100million in its homes to ensure they are brought up to the Welsh Quality Housing Standard by 2015.
Our aim is to ensure that all promises made to tenants are delivered, that tenants remain at the heart of everything we do, and that we shape the organisation and our people in line with our values and community mutual ethos. We are striving to build a positive reputation through real achievement!
