This document tells the GENuS story so far and shows the impact we have made where it matters most in the communities where we work.
Everything we have achieved is underpinned by our commitment to working together, sharing ideas and being determined to deliver the best services that we can. None of this would have happened without the support of our local authority partners who have worked with us across the region to ensure that the GENuS Consortium has made a huge impact through efficient and effective working.
Although most of our early efforts have focused on building as many new affordable homes as possible and making the best use of every penny we spend on improving our existing homes, the next part of our journey is all about building on our community investment activities and delivering improved services to the people who live in our homes and their wider communities.
GENuS’ track record in community investment in the South East Wales region has been such that Tai Calon – the new community mutual organization to which Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council recently transferred its stock of council homes – plan to join the Consortium. We know this will enable GENuS to take its community regeneration activities to new levels and enable us to optimize opportunities to deliver more for less; develop new models of enterprise and respond effectively to the new localism agenda.
